Observational Research on the Impact and Outcomes of Norovirus (ORION) study

The goal of the ORION study is to better understand how often adults experience a stomach illness known as acute gastroenteritis (or AGE) and how that illness impacts their quality of life.

We are inviting Kaiser Permanente members to take part in this study if they:

• Are 18 years of age or older
• Have not had a stomach illness in the past 14 days
• Are comfortable reading study materials and talking to study staff in English

Participation in ORION is by invitation only. You will receive an email or mailed brochure from us if you are eligible to take part. If you do not receive an email or brochure from us, you are unable to participate in ORION.

In the study, we are asking participants to fill out weekly online surveys for about 8 months and self-collect a stool sample if they are sick.
