Center for Community Health and Evaluation researchers star in a video about achieving real changes in health care

Around 20,000 people gathered for a video debut at the 143rd annual meeting of the American Public Health Association (APHA) last month in Chicago. The five-minute film highlights how the GHRI Center for Community Health and Evaluation (CCHE) partners with organizations to evaluate their community health improvement efforts and build evaluation capacity. CCHE director Allen Cheadle, associate director Maggie Jones, and research associates Diana Charbonneau and Elena Kuo all have speaking roles.

Two projects in growing areas of CCHE expertise are called out in the video—a Healthy Dose toolkit developed with Kaiser Permanente and an evaluation of health impact assessments for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The video was made by London-based WebsEdge, which specializes in conference and online TV channels for health-related nonprofit organizations like APHA.

In October, a local film crew spent the day at GHRI, filming the interviews as well as footage of other CCHE team members at work. As Diana Charbonneau notes in the video, CCHE has a health-in-all-policies approach that “has a possibility for real change in health, and that’s why we’re at the table—it’s the kind of work that we do.”
