ABCT honors Dr. Lewis with President’s New Researcher Award

On October 28, GHRI Associate Investigator Cara Lewis, PhD, was in New York City to receive the President’s New Researcher Award from the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT). Presented during the ABCT’s 50th annual convention, the award recognized Dr. Lewis for early-career research that is helping develop new strategies for improving health and well-being through behavioral, cognitive, and other evidence-based approaches. An expert in implementation science who specializes in mental and behavioral health, Dr. Lewis joined GHRI’s MacColl Center for Health Care Innovation in June. One of her current projects involves studying the implementation of measurement-based depression care.

Dr. Psaty named a Highly Cited Researcher by Thomson Reuters

GHRI Senior Investigator Bruce Psaty, MD, PhD, was recently named a 2016 Highly Cited Researcher by the Thomson Reuters division of Intellectual Property & Science (now Clarivate Analytics). The annual list recognizes top researchers in the sciences and social sciences from around the world. This year’s list focused on scholarly works published from 2004 to 2014 and indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection, which includes scientific journals, books, proceedings, published data sets, and patents from 80 countries and in 32 languages. To be considered “highly cited,” a publication must rank in the top one percent by citations for field and publication year.

CCHE’s Carol Cahill, DeAnn Cromp awarded Group Health staff grants

Carol Cahill and DeAnn Cromp, both of GHRI’s Center for Community Health and Evaluation (CCHE), recently received a Group Health Community Engagement Staff Grant to help support non-profit organizations that are dear to their hearts.

Ms. Cahill, a communication and analytics consultant at CCHE, was awarded a staff grant on behalf of Obliteride, the popular cycling fundraiser that benefits the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. In August, Ms. Cahill rode 25 miles with her son in honor of her late husband, Tom Foley, who passed away from multiple myeloma in 2015. Read more of Ms. Cahill’s story.

Ms. Cromp, a CCHE research associate, received her grant on behalf of OneBrick, which provides non-profit organizations with a sustainable volunteer pool. Founded in 2001 with the goal of making volunteering convenient and social, OneBrick has contributed almost 500,000 volunteer hours to non-profit organizations across the country. Ms. Cromp enjoys connecting with other OneBrick volunteers while helping out local organizations like FareStart, Treehouse, and Food Lifeline.
