Group Health Research Institute launched a new blog this week called Healthy Findings.
“The goal of our blog is to spread timely, relevant information about our research so people can use it to live healthier lives,” says Joan DeClaire, GHRI’s communications director. “We also want to engage our key audiences in conversations about the health research issues that matter most to them.”
In addition to GHRI news, the blog will feature commentaries from GHRI scientists and others—including our collaborators inside and outside Group Health. Occasionally, patients who are working with GHRI study teams might share insights about their experiences. Study participants and patients who have benefited from Group Health research will also be encouraged to post.
“Group Health is seeking to become even more patient centered in its care and its research, says Ms. DeClaire. “Our communication tools give us the opportunity to hear and share patients concerns and voices.”
Posts this week include a commentary from GHRI Senior Investigator Beverly Green, MD, MPH, about “the disruptive potential of mobile apps” and a link to a recent story from Bloomberg News about GHRI’s research with the University of Washington and the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation to study the effects of concussions in the National Football League.
Watch for more in the weeks and months ahead.
