Community Health at KP Program Office │ maya.nadison@kp.org
After earning her PhD and MHS from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Dr. Nadison joined Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States as Senior Program Manager for Community Health Evaluation and Research. Dr. Nadison built the department’s Monitoring & Evaluation infrastructure, developing theories of change and strategic frameworks, creating a process to allocate limited evaluation resources, and managing a network of external evaluators and consultants. She led the Community Health Needs Assessment and Implementation Strategies processes, collected and analysed quantitative and qualitative data and engaged the community in conversations to prioritize health needs. Dr. Nadison is particularly interested in community-based participatory research and has explored the use of non-traditional research methods, including arts-based research.
Since 2020, Dr. Nadison has been supporting Kaiser Permanente’s Program Office. As a member of the scientific team responsible for methods development, analysis, and planning for a nationally representative survey of KP members’ social needs, she was responsible for data visualization. With significant experience translating research findings into concrete plans of action to support senior decision-makers, Dr. Nadison has recently been exploring new cutting-edge data visualization tools to synthesize and present complex data to operational leaders.
In partnership with the National Market Research team, Dr. Nadison conducted a study of members’ attitudes toward the use of consumer data so that KP can balance the promise of enhanced, targeted communications using advanced data analytics capabilities while meeting consumers’ privacy and personalization expectations. To this end, Dr. Nadison has been developing a vignette-based quantitative survey to assess members’ attitudes. The vignettes address KP’s priority social needs, namely financial strains, food insecurity, housing instability, social isolation and transportation.
An avid linguist, Dr. Nadison speaks six languages and has exceptional cross-cultural competencies with work and travel experiences in 70 countries. She also has a background in puppetry and set design.
Land Acknowledgment
Our Seattle offices sit on the occupied land of the Duwamish and by the shared waters of the Coast Salish people, who have been here thousands of years and remain. Learn about practicing land acknowledgment.
