Greenwood-Hickman and Rosenberg present at international symposium
In June, Mikael Anne Greenwood-Hickman, MPH, a Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute (KPWHRI) collaborative scientist, and Dori Rosenberg, PhD, MPH, a KPWHRI associate investigator, were invited to Uppsala, Sweden to present their work on aging and cognitive decline at the annual meeting of the International Society for Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity.
Rosenberg spoke about reducing dementia risk through physical activity, measured by accelerometer. The work is part of Rosenberg's SMARRT trial (Systematic Multi-domain Alzheimer's Risk Reduction Trial). Greenwood-Hickman presented on testing an intervention to prevent cognitive decline in older Latino/Hispanic adults by changing sedentary behavior and physical activity. Both also presented posters about their work in the Adult Changes in Thought (ACT) Study, Rosenberg on 24-hour activity and cognitive function, and Greenwood-Hickman on sleep, activity, and depressive symptoms during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lee presents ACT Study results
Cecilia Lee, MD, MS, KPWHRI affiliate investigator, recently gave presentations about Eye ACT, part of the ACT Study. ACT is a multidecade collaboration between KPWHRI and the University of Washington (UW). Lee, an associate professor in the UW Department of Ophthalmology, gave a virtual presentation at the 2023 UW Medical Data Science Symposium and an in-person talk in Philadelphia for the 2023 Vickie and Jack Farber Vision Research Center Guest Lecture.
