The Center for Community Health and Evaluation (CCHE) at Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute (KPWHRI) was well represented at the annual American Association of Evaluation Conference in Portland, Oregon, in October. In addition to several poster presentations, invited speakers from CCHE and their topics were:

  • Maggie Jones, Noon Kuo, and Abby Isaacson in a demonstration talk on "Empowering communities and new evaluators to measure what matters," a curriculum for nonprofit organizations, community collaborators, and funders that was developed by CCHE
  • Diana Charbonneau and Maggie Jones at a roundtable discussion, describing a case study to show how diverse perspectives were integrated into a customized, context-specific tool for organizations to self-assess their health equity work
  • Lisa Schafer and Trang Le discussing experiences, challenges, and lessons about incorporating community voices into evaluations of initiatives that indirectly, rather than directly, impact community members

Congratulations to CCHE on the strong representation at this influential national evaluation meeting.
