Dr. Wernli speaks at President's Cancer Panel Workshop

In February, KPWHRI Associate Investigator Karen J. Wernli, PhD, was an invited panelist for the President’s Cancer Panel Workshop on Improving Resilience and Equity in Cancer Screening: Innovation to Increase Screening. Dr. Wernli contributed her expertise as a cancer researcher to this advisory meeting on recommendations to President Biden for the National Cancer Institute.

Dr. Green appointed Vice-Chair, International Society of Telemedicine and eHealth

Beverly B. Green, MD, MPH, KPWHRI senior investigator and Washington Permanente Medical Group physician, is now Vice Chair of the International Society of Telemedicine and eHealth, Section on Hypertension. The society, based in Switzerland, is a nongovernmental organization in an official relationship with the World Health Organization. In her vice-chair role, Dr. Green will help facilitate the international dissemination of knowledge and experience in telemedicine and eHealth, particularly in telecardiology.

Dr. Taylor presents on ACT study results

In March, Janelle Taylor, PhD, a KPWHRI affiliate investigator, spoke at a virtual international conference from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, about working with ACT study data. Dr. Taylor's project answers anthropological questions about social and caregiving relationships for older adults with dementia who do not have living spouses or children. KPWHRI Assistant Investigator Marlaine Figueroa Gray, PhD, is also involved in the research.
